We are looking for individuals who share in our love of food and culinary creation and have an unwavering dedication to customer service to work in our Prepared Foods Department.
Our Prepared Foods Department is the best in the city. It takes a dedicated team of knowledgeable experts to help serve and prepare items for our longstanding clientele . Applicants must be ready to work in a fast paced environment, be willing to learn and have a flexible work schedule. Must have at least cooking experience, with an ability to follow set recipes. Wages are open for negotiation based on experience and not limited to the outlined range.

JOB SUMMARY:
As a full-time Sous Chef at Marilu’s Market, you play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient operation and quality standards of our kitchen and retail areas. Your responsibilities encompass a range of tasks, including supervising, setting up the retail area in the morning, managing stock rotation, and maintaining quality control to meet Marilu’s Market standards. Additionally, you will be involved in baking, packaging, and presenting items in our display cases while providing excellent customer service. Handling stock, receiving deliveries, and managing garbage disposal are also part of your duties. Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation is crucial, with regular cleaning of kitchen equipment and work areas, as well as closing procedures for both the retail and backroom spaces. Adherence to health, safety, and food handling protocols is paramount, as outlined in our employee handbook, always ensuring a neat appearance and proper attire. Scheduling commitments require punctuality and proactive communication for any absences or requested time off, with consideration for peak periods and holiday restrictions. Your dedication to maintaining a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment contributes to the overall success and reputation of Marilu’s Market. Additionally, you may be assigned other duties as needed by Department or Store Managers to support the smooth operation of the business.
