We are a specialty service, truck carrier located in Delta, B.C. who provides general cargo, refrigerated and bulk commodity transportation throughout the Lower Mainland, Vancouver Island, and Washington State. We are a busy and growing company and are dedicated to providing excellent service to all of our customers – and our team makes this happen! From Truck Drivers to Accounts Receivable, our dynamic and supportive team carries out Aquatrans’ success.
Nature of Position:
Full-time permanent position. Must be available to work in the Aquatrans office located in Delta, B.C., 5 days per week. Remote work is not available.
Monday – Friday, 7:30am to 4:00pm (40 hours per week).
What You’ll Do
As our Logistics Planning Specialist, you will have the opportunity to use your excellent organizational and problem-solving skills to plan shipments and routes, assign drivers, and adjust plans as needed. The Logistics Planning Specialist provides accurate data entry into TMS to ensure successful operations. They also provide a high level of attention to detail to set up the mainland reefer and van team for success. The Logistics Planning Specialist will also manage and secure all marine transport required for the mainland team.
You will:
- Book all marine sailings including Seaspan and BCF from the mainland to Vancouver island.
- Update and monitor our truck management system to ensure accurate data and inputs.
- Receive and enter customer tenders and shipments into the TMS system.
- Secure appointments through customer portals.
- Communicate key information to customers, including ETA’s and appointment information.
- Monitor internal communication for out of service assets. Update systems accordingly.
- Prepare completed shipments for the finance team to achieve on time invoicing.
- Provide regulatory oversight on our Air Cargo Secure program.
- Receive and handle telecommunications with customers and drivers.
- Performs other duties as required
What You Need to Get the Job Done
- High school diploma or GED required
- University program in logistics or equivalent business-related experience is considered an asset
- Transportation industry knowledge and experience an asset (i.e. shipping/receiving, scheduling, freight negotiations and regulatory requirements)
- Planning or scheduling experience an asset (i.e. production, logistics, etc.)
- Technological skills and knowledge of programs such as Microsoft Office, planning systems, experience using different software, etc.
- Able to work well under pressure
- Flexible, able to deal with change
- Strong attention to detail
- Very organized with excellent time management and problem-solving skills
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
