Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Analytics Manager to lead our data analytics function and drive a culture of data-informed decision-making across the organization. This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on analytical expertise to transform data into meaningful insights that shape business direction and accelerate growth. Experience in the Music or Entertainment industry is a plus.
As the Analytics Manager, you will oversee a team of analysts, establish analytics best practices, partner closely with business stakeholders and senior leadership, and ensure the delivery of scalable, high-impact analytics solutions. You’ll also play a key role in designing and documenting the data model and analytical framework that support enterprise reporting and self-service analytics.
Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
- Lead and mentor a team of data analysts, fostering professional growth and excellence in analytical delivery
- Recruit, onboard, and retain top analytical talent aligned with company objectives
- Define the analytics roadmap, prioritizing initiatives that support key business objectives and long-term strategic goals
- Champion data literacy and governance across the organization to promote consistency and trust in data assets
Business Partnership & Strategic Analysis
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand priorities and translate them into actionable analytical frameworks
- Deliver insights and recommendations that influence strategy and improve performance across functions
- Serve as the key analytics liaison between business units, data engineering, and executive teams
Reporting, Data Infrastructure & Enablement
- Oversee the design, documentation, and governance of the analytics data model to ensure scalability, consistency, and clear data lineage
- Partner with data engineering to build and maintain well-structured, reliable datasets and semantic layers that enable robust reporting and analysis
- Lead the development of automated dashboards, reports, and data pipelines that meet evolving business needs
- Advance the organization’s self-service analytics capabilities by enabling teams with intuitive BI tools and clear data definitions
Advanced Analytics & Insights
- Lead the development of advanced analyses—such as forecasting, segmentation, and optimization—to support strategic initiatives
- Translate complex analytical findings into clear, compelling narratives for executive stakeholders
- Identify emerging data trends and recommend innovative analytical approaches or technologies
- Use analytics to uncover music consumption trends, artist performance drivers, and new revenue opportunities across DSPs and platforms
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, Finance, or related discipline)
- 7+ years of experience in analytics, business intelligence, or data science, including at least 2+ years in a leadership or managerial capacity
- Advanced SQL proficiency for data discovery and complex analysis across large-scale data environments
- Strong proficiency in BI tools (Tableau, Looker, Power BI, Sigma or similar)
- Experience working with cloud data platforms (GCP, AWS, Databricks, Snowflake, or similar)
- Proven experience designing, documenting, and maintaining analytics data models and semantic layers that support scalable, self-service reporting
- Thorough grasp of medallion architecture (bronze/silver/gold layer patterns) and/or modern data lakehouse concepts
- Experience with statistical modeling, machine learning, or predictive analytics
- Strong Excel and data storytelling capabilities
- Familiarity with Python
Pay Scale
- $130,000 - $150,000 CAD per year
- The final compensation within this range will be determined based on the candidate’s experience, skills, and overall fit for the role.
