JOB SUMMARY
The Cook at Mamaqtuq is responsible for preparing and cooking meals in accordance with established recipes and standards, contributing to the delivery of high-quality food service in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Reporting to the Chef or Kitchen Manager, the Cook ensures that meals are prepared efficiently, safely, and to the satisfaction of customers. This role involves setting up workstations, managing food supplies, maintaining cleanliness, and collaborating with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations. The Cook also supports inventory control and adheres to food safety and sanitation regulations.
Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and cook meals following standardized recipes and quality standards.

Set up and maintain clean, organized workstations and kitchen areas.

Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines.

Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations.

Monitor inventory and assist with receiving and storing supplies
Shift Times:
Cook positions are scheduled across multiple shifts. While the current shift structure is outlined below, please note that it may be adjusted based on operational needs. Applicants must be available to work a combination of the following shifts:
- Morning Shifts
- Weekdays (Mon-Fri): 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM
- Weekends (Sat-Sun): 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM
- Evening Shifts:

Weekdays (Mon-Fri): 2:00 PM – 9:00 PM

Weekends (Sat-Sun): 2:00 PM – 9:00 PM

QUALIFICATIONS
-
Experience as a Cook or in a kitchen role is an asset.
-
Food Safe Level 1 certification (or willingness to get certified).
-
Familiarity with kitchen equipment and food safety standards is an asset.
-
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
-
Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy items.
-
Dependable and able to work scheduled shifts. You can indicate your shift availability—whether it’s full-time, part-time, or just once in awhile when applying.
Preference may be given to candidates with the following:
- Previous experience in a kitchen support role.
- Culinary training or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Food Safe Level 1 or Safe Serve Certification
