As a Vocational Instructor at Geseron Employment Consulting (GEC) Ltd., you will play a key role in supporting clients on their career development journey. You will empower individuals with the skills, tools, and confidence needed to re-enter the workforce successfully. This role is ideal for someone passionate about career development, coaching, and making a meaningful impact.
Job Responsibilities
- Guide and educate clients through GECs Career Exploration and Job Search Assistance programs.
- Teach clients effective job search strategies.
- Prepare clients for job interviews.
- Create tailored resumes and cover letters for clients.
- Motivate and support clients as they transition back into the workforce.
- Monitor client progress and ensure all required program information is delivered.
- Maintain contact with clients at least once per week throughout the program.
- Complete detailed documentation of each client interaction in accordance with GEC guidelines and within expected timeframes.
Requirements
- Comprehensive knowledge and experience in career counselling, resume and cover letter writing, industry-specific job markets, employment trends, and online job platforms.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and competing priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and engagingly.
- Proactive, empathetic, and motivational approach to working with clients, including identifying and addressing challenges.
- Understanding of mental health barriers, including those experienced by individuals with a history of trauma.
- Detail-oriented and deadline-driven, with the ability to follow established processes and procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Reliable and consistent, with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Dedicated, distraction-free private workspace.
- Computer or laptop with up-to-date antivirus software.
- High-speed internet connection.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
- Criminal record check.
Required Qualifications
- Education, training, or certification in counselling, career development, social work, vocational rehabilitation, or a related field is required.
- A combination of equivalent education, training, and experience may be considered. If applying based on equivalency, please clearly indicate this in your resume.
Languages
- English is mandatory.
- French is considered a strong asset.
Wages
- $25.00 - $30.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
