School District No. 83 is current seeking: Position Title
0.500 FTE Grade K-8 Prep Teacher North Shuswap Elementary This is a temporary assignment effective September 1, 2025 to June 30, 2026. The prep teacher will be responsible for planning and implementing. The schedule and subjects, which may include Fine Arts, Music, and Physical Education, will be determined in consultation with the principal.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Education;
- Valid BC teaching certificate and current membership in the Teacher Regulation Branch.
Teachers applying for this position should possess the following attributes:
- training in elementary, Middle or intermediate education;
- excellent classroom management skills;
- knowledge of current instructional practices and the curriculum;
- ability to differentiate instruction based on student needs;
- willingness and ability to work with students with diverse needs;
- knowledge of the First Peoples Principles of Learning;
- willingness to work closely and collaborate with classroom teacher, CEA, Learning Resource Teacher and the Principal;
- strong interpersonal skills to “connect” with students;
- strong interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills;
- willingness to contribute to school wide programs;
- strong understanding of and experience with Restorative practices;
- Knowledge of and experience with MyEd reporting and data management;
- willingness to work closely with parents.
