About the role

Are you recognized for your leadership, your ability to mobilize multiple teams, and your effectiveness in managing both operational and strategic priorities? This opportunity is for you!

Our client, a company operating in the mining sector in the Val-d’Or region, is seeking an Electrical and Mechanical Superintendent to support the activities of its mining site.

Reporting to the General Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the continuous improvement, reliability, integrity, and availability of electrical and mechanical installations, as well as fixed equipment. They will oversee maintenance teams while contributing to work planning, cost control, employee development, operational optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

-       Lead and motivate teams responsible for electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation activities, including supervisors, maintenance employees, and external contractors.

-       Plan, organize, and coordinate maintenance activities according to operational requirements.

-       Develop, update, and supervise preventive maintenance programs for facilities and equipment.

-       Monitor inspections, testing, diagnostics, and emergency interventions performed on facilities and equipment.

-       Ensure the reliability, integrity, and availability of electrical and mechanical installations, as well as fixed equipment across the site.

-       Maintain adequate inventories of critical parts and equipment to minimize the risk of unexpected downtime.

-       Promote best practices in health, safety, and environmental management while ensuring compliance with CNESST requirements, CSA standards, and other applicable regulatory requirements.

-       Participate in health and safety management activities, including incident investigations, preparation of technical reports, and implementation of corrective actions.

-       Prepare and manage maintenance budgets, analyze operating costs, and recommend investments required to ensure long-term asset sustainability.

-       Provide technical expertise for construction, modernization, optimization, and commissioning projects.

-       Collaborate with mining operations, processing plant, geology, and project teams to ensure consistency and efficiency across activities.

-       Serve as the site resource person for SAP maintenance-related functionalities.

-       Conduct performance evaluations, support team members’ professional development, and participate in management meetings and continuous improvement initiatives.

-       Perform any other related duties required to support efficient operations.

Requirements

-       Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.

-       Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation and membership in the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).

-       Mandatory experience in an underground or open-pit mining environment.

-       Minimum of 10 years of relevant industrial maintenance experience.

-       Minimum of 5 years of experience in a maintenance supervision or management role.

-       Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, instrumentation, automation, hydraulics, and mechanics.

-       Completion of Mining Training Modules FMTM 1 through 7.

-       Valid General Explosives Permit.

-       Proficiency with SAP, a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), and the Microsoft Office Suite.

-       Solid understanding of applicable laws, standards, and regulatory requirements in Quebec.

-       Flexibility regarding work schedules and availability to be on call at all times, including travel when operations require it.

-       College diploma (DEC) in Electrical Engineering Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field (asset).

Salary: $160,000 to $190,000 per year
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 5:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Status: Permanent position
