Human Resources (HR) Manager – Antec Controls

The position of HR Manager is an exciting new opportunity on our Antec Controls team. The HR Manager is responsible for leading all human resource functions and supporting the development and implementation of workplace health and safety initiatives. This position provides day-to-day HR support to employees and managers while ensuring alignment with corporate policies and procedures. We are looking for an individual who is collaborative, energetic, and enthusiastic while handling multiple priorities with a high level of accountability.

The successful candidate's responsibilities will include:
Human Resources

  • Administer HR policies, procedures, and programs consistent with company and corporate standards.
  • Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on employee relations, attendance, and performance management.
  • Lead recruitment and onboarding for unionized and salaried positions.
  • Dealing with labour and employee relation concerns including grievances.
  • Support training, development, and engagement initiatives to build a strong workplace culture.
  • Maintain accurate HR records and ensure compliance with employment legislation.
  • Coordinate payroll and benefits information with Corporate HR and Payroll.
  • Provide HR support to a small group of U.S.-based employees on general HR matters outside of local legislative requirements, working in partnership with the U.S. HR Manager to ensure alignment and consistency in company practices.

Safety

Working closely with the Facilities Manager, the HR manager will:

  • Support and enhance workplace safety initiatives
  • Assist with safety programs and training coordination
  • Ensure ensuring compliance with company and regulatory safety standards. The HR Manager will
  • Promote a proactive safety mindset through employee engagement, communication, and integration of safety practices into onboarding and broader HR programs.

The ideal candidate for this position will have:

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with Manitoba employment and safety legislation.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments and with corporate teams.
  • CHRP designation considered an asset.
  • Experience with occupational health and safety programs is an asset.

This role is ideal for an HR professional who is comfortable working in hands-on manufacturing environment and who enjoys variety in their day. The safety portion of the role will evolve over time as local capacity builds and the site’s programs mature.
