Talent Partner - Operations

We are seeking a Talent Partner, to support recruitment for our operations positions. You will be a part of a high-performing talent team that works together to win, delivering an exceptional recruiting experience aligned with how we treat our guests who fly with us. Our ideal candidate brings the passion, drive, and agility to deliver sophisticated, high-volume recruiting initiatives for a variety of our operations roles. You are a problem solver, a consultant to your clients, and will work to elevate the overall recruiting function with both hiring leaders and amongst your peer group. In partnership with the business and your team, you will work to create and execute regional strategies. You will be an active contributor to projects that will grow WestJet’s talent acquisition strategy for the future and be open to learning from your peers while growing your career.

Reporting to the Lead, Talent Acquisition & Programs, you will assist in setting a new standard of excellence across all aspects of operations recruitment programs, policies, and initiatives, and contribute to creative hiring concepts to deliver high-quality talent to the organization.

What you will bring to the team:

  • You consider yourself a creative problem solver, a proactive thinker, and act with a sense of urgency to employ a variety of methods to build and maintain a pipeline of top talent for high volume operations roles

  • A relationship builder by trade, you can partner and influence key internal/external stakeholders including your peers to deliver recruitment strategies

  • You understand the importance of providing an excellent candidate experience and representing WestJet as an employer brand ambassador

  • Strong coordination skills to deliver and host engaging recruitment events to target and attract top talent, maintaining a strong and diverse candidate pipeline

  • A team player with a “can-do” attitude and collaborate with your peers to develop and improve against current recruitment processes

  • Highly motivated, energetic and goal-oriented with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Experience/Qualifications:

  • 3+ years full-cycle recruiting experience required

  • Working within a high-volume operational portfolio is considered an asset. Furthermore, aviation experience is considered a strong asset

  • Post-secondary education is considered an asset

  • Demonstrated track record of success with a variety of recruiting methods, including direct sourcing, e-recruiting, and traditional methods, within a multi-faceted, growing business with a complex employee structure

  • Proven experience conducting various types of interviews (i.e., phone, video, in-person etc.)

  • Ability to maintain composure in demanding situations and possess a “roll-up-your-sleeves” attitude to make things happen

  • Proven ability to build strong and lasting internal relationships by working collaboratively in a complex stakeholder environment

  • Strong communication, analytical and interpersonal skills with the ability to organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines and handle competing priorities

  • A strong aptitude for technology and computer skills including MS Office

  • Valid driver’s license along with the ability to travel as required
