Description This role offers an exciting opportunity to join a lean and dynamic corporate finance team with significant exposure to senior leadership. This is a great opportunity for someone who has 2-4 years in an FA role and wants to continue their learning and development in a large corporate organisation.
The Senior Financial Analyst will report directly to the Corporate Finance Manager and play a key role in multi-entity consolidation, external reporting, and financial analysis. The position is integral to ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and transparency of the company’s financial reporting processes.
This is a role requiring someone to be flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced environment, where no two days are the same as we continue to grow our business. We’re looking for someone who can deal with issues and problems as they come, thinking critically and staying to timelines, taking accountability for getting things done.
Key Responsibilities Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Own the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements, MD&A, and related disclosures in accordance with IFRS.
- Coordinate with external auditors during quarterly reviews and the annual audit process.
Consolidation & Analysis
- Perform monthly consolidation of global, multi-currency results, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Review submissions from regional controllership teams to validate financial data and accountability.
- Prepare supporting schedules and reports to facilitate internal and external reporting.
Transaction Review & Process Improvement
- Calculate and post corporate-level journal entries as a key component of the month-end close process.
- Review, document, and journalize complex transactions, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices to optimize efficiency.
Business Support & Special Projects
- Deliver financial insights and guidance to cross-functional business units.
- Lead or contribute to ad hoc projects, reconciliations, and reporting requests as assigned.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business (required).
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in finance or accounting.
- Professional accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA) or actively pursuing designation
- Solid working knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting requirements.
- Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate complex financial information effectively to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
- Able to work as part of a very small, fast moving team – able to wear many hats
- Positive attitude to training – strong drive to learn and be adaptable
