Job Description
The Applications Program for the Land C4ISR Program is looking for a Co-op Software Engineer to join our team. We develop and integrate various software products that enable the Canadian Army to support and accomplish their missions. Our focus is predominantly on Battle Management and Planning applications. On this team, you can expect to work in an Agile development framework on a variety of different technologies, including deploying web-based server applications, and working with messaging networks over tactical radios.
In this role, you can expect to:

Implement software to meet the requirements, Definition of Done and Acceptance Criteria

Develop and perform tests and debugging of code
-
Identify defects, resolve issues and verify changes
-
Support and perform Product level test and integration efforts
-
Participate in code reviews
-
Participate in Agile ceremonies, including PI Planning, Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospective
-
Expand knowledge of latest technologies, products and market trends relevant to area of work

Performing related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer, Software, or Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or other related field.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Experience in, or interest to learn C#, Java, Python.
- Experience with the Canadian Army is an asset.
- Experience with AI models is an asset.
- Experience with databases is an asset.
- Experience with distributed systems is an asset.
- Experience with automated testing is an asset.
It is a requirement that General Dynamics Mission Systems-Canada be registered with the Canadian Controlled Goods program and that all of its workforce be security assessed. Successful applicants must meet all applicable security requirements, including but not limited to the ability to obtain and maintain a Canadian government security clearance. Applicants may be required to meet additional security requirements in order to gain access to technical data, classified areas or information that is subject to international regulations. You must be eligible to work in Canada.
