Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable Supervisor
About the role
Calgary Aggregate Recycling (CAR) is seeking a dedicated and highly motivated Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable Supervisor to join our team. In this role, you will oversee Scale House operations and staff, serve as a key point of contact for customers, and ensure efficient financial and administrative processes. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys balancing leadership with hands-on accounting responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise, lead, and support Scale House staff
- Generate daily and bi-monthly billing
- Review invoice reports and reconcile scale tickets
- Organize and maintain scale ticket records
- Manage collections and follow up on past-due accounts
- Process customer deposits and reconcile daily cash, debit, and credit transactions
- Enter and manage supplier invoices; complete credit applications
- Oversee purchase orders from creation through to closing
- Assist with month-end close processes
- Prepare regulatory reports and financial analyses as required
- Provide backup support for Scale House Administrators
- Contribute to process improvements and maintain documentation
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience in accounts receivable and accounts payable
- Previous supervisory experience
- Strong Excel skills with the ability to manage large data sets
- Experience with ERP/accounting software
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Reliable, punctual, and able to multitask effectively
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, industrial environment
- Self-motivated with a results-driven mindset
- Experience in the aggregate or construction industry is an asset
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and promoting safety on-site
