Anti-Human Trafficking Lead

The Impact the Anti-Human Trafficking Lead can make:
The Anti-Human Trafficking Lead provides strategic leadership and clinical oversight for Covenant House Vancouver’s Anti-Human Trafficking and Exploitation initiatives. This role strengthens our organizational capacity to identify, prevent, and respond to trafficking and exploitation impacting youth. The Lead ensures high-quality service delivery, leads program development, supports staff, and builds strong relationships with community partners. They serve as a subject-matter expert for the agency and play a key role in system-level advocacy and youth-centered best practices.
How you will contribute:
Program Leadership & Development
- Lead the design, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement of Anti-Human Trafficking and Exploitation programming.
- Develop and maintain program policies, procedures, practice guidelines, and program manuals.
- Ensure programming aligns with trauma-informed, youth-centered, and culturally responsive best practices.
- Provide consultation and guidance across departments on all matters related to trafficking and exploitation.
Staff Supervision & Support
- Supervise the Anti-human Trafficking Coordinator staff, including providing coaching, reflective supervision, clinical guidance, and performance feedback.
- Support staff wellness with a strong grounding in vicarious trauma, compassion fatigue, and resilience.
- Lead team meetings, case consultations, and multi-disciplinary collaboration.
Training, Capacity Building & Awareness
- Update and refine current training modules on human trafficking, exploitation, and support youth for frontline staff.
- Lead efforts to translate training into recorded and interactive modules to allow for on-demand access and potential roll out to community partners.
- Promote consistent organizational understanding of trafficking and exploitation and ensure quality assurance of documentation in this area
- Lead advocacy and awareness initiatives in alignment with agency priorities.
Community Collaboration & Systems Advocacy
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community agencies, law enforcement, healthcare providers, Indigenous partners, and specialized trafficking services.
- Represent Covenant House Vancouver at community tables, working groups, and provincial/national networks.
- Promote youth rights, safety, and agency within broader systems.
Data, Reporting & Evaluation
- Ensure accurate data collection and documentation in agency databases.
- Prepare reports for funders, leadership, and external bodies as required.
- Use data to evaluate program outcomes and inform strategic priorities.
- Support organizational strategy through contact and engagement documentation
Direct Service (as needed)
Provide consultation for internal CHV teams and community partners.
Compensation:
The successful candidate can expect a starting salary of between $77,350.00 and $96,678.40 depending on factors such as internal equity, experience, competencies, and education. Once hired, salaries are reviewed annually following the annual performance review and successful employees have the opportunity for their salary to increase, over time, up to the maximum of the pay band, currently $116,006.80.
Who are we looking for?
Education & Experience
- Master of Social Work or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 3–5 years experience in roles serving populations who have experienced human trafficking, exploitation, gender-based violence, or complex trauma.
- Previous experience in supervision, team leadership, or mentorship strongly preferred.
Skills & Abilities
- Strong leadership abilities, including coaching, staff support, and conflict resolution.
- Proven competence in trauma-informed care and the unique needs of trafficked and exploited youth.
- Knowledge of adolescent development, homelessness, and the impacts of systemic barriers.
- Skilled in facilitation, training, and public speaking.
- Demonstrated ability to design policies, procedures, manuals, and practice guides.
- Strong critical thinking, initiative, and sound decision-making.
- Proficiency with MS Office and database systems.
- Familiarity with Resiliency Theory and Stages of Change models.
