About You / What We Are Looking For
Are you a motivated self-starter with strong problem-solving and analytical skills? Join our team of dedicated ICT professionals and kickstart your career in information technology! In this role, you’ll provide essential technical support to internal clients across the City, assisting with hardware installations, imaging PCs and laptops, and fulfilling other hardware requests. The successful candidate will also be responsible for referring unresolved software and hardware malfunctions to technical specialists, and handling necessary follow-up. This role will also be required to assist with the ICT Support Desk as required.
Our ideal candidate will possess the ability to work independently as well as part of a team, exercising sound judgment in resolving problems within their scope of work. They must also display superior customer service skills needed to assist internal users with their requests efficiently and effectively.
Minimum Qualifications
Required qualifications include the completion of Grade 12, supplemented by information technology or computer science coursework. Candidates must also have previous related experience working in a similar IT Help Desk or technical support role.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in a municipal or government environment considered to be an asset. Any equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered. A BC Driver’s License is preferred in order to travel between work facilities, however candidates who do not possess a driver’s license are still encouraged to apply.
What We Offer:
This CUPE position has an hourly rate range of $35.84 - $42.16 per hour. The rate of pay is based on a variety of factors including qualifications, knowledge, experience and skills.
You will have the chance to join a rapidly growing and diverse team dedicated to supporting the local community, and be able to engage in variety of learning and development opportunities. This auxiliary/on call position is based in Coquitlam, and follows a Monday through Friday schedule between the hours of 8:00 am and 5:00 pm.
