About the role
The Analyst will play a key role in supporting Manulife Wealth’s Capital Markets Group (CMG) in the execution of corporate finance, advisory and structured notes transactions, new issue due diligence, valuation modeling, investment product analysis, and transaction documentation. The successful candidate will assist in managing the workflow of new issues, proprietary products, and structured transactions, working closely with senior CMG professionals.
This role requires strong analytical capability, sound judgment, high attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a time-sensitive environment. The Analyst will interact with internal stakeholders, external issuers, advisors, and product teams to ensure accurate, timely, and well-executed transaction support.
Responsibilities
Transaction Due Diligence & Analysis:

Conduct due diligence on transactions, issuers, businesses, competitors, and industry positioning.

Review and analyze financial statements and performance metrics.

Support the preparation of valuation materials, financial models, and transaction documentation.

Assist in assessing financial, operational, and regulatory risks.
Transaction Execution Support:

Manage transaction documentation and ensure accuracy of all required materials.

Prepare presentations, analytical packages, and proposals for internal and external audiences.

Coordinate information flows among issuers, advisors, and Manulife Wealth stakeholders.

Facilitate internal reviews and approvals for transactions and issuer materials.
Issuer & Product Support:

Evaluate and monitor investment products across issuers and platforms.

Support CMG professionals in assessing suitability criteria and investment merits of new issues and structured products.

Assist in research related to capital markets transactions, issuer backgrounds, regulatory filings, and new product evaluations.
Operational & Administrative Support:

Maintain organized records of transactions, research findings, and due diligence files.

Support the management of workflows relating to internal approvals, documentation tracking, and issuer communications.

Provide general analytical and administrative support to the Senior Managing Director and CMG team.
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Commerce, or related field.

Strong analytical and financial modeling skills.
-
High proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
-
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
-
Demonstrated professionalism, integrity, and commitment to high-quality work.
-
Prior experience in capital markets, corporate finance, research, investment banking, or financial analysis is an asset.
