About the role
This role is for an experienced audio engineer to support a commercial shoot in Vancouver, focused on capturing high-quality sound for interview content. The project is a one-day, on-site engagement, requiring you to work closely with a visiting line producer and director of photography. The shoot will be conducted with a single camera setup, and your expertise will be essential in ensuring clear, professional audio throughout the interviews. Only candidates currently based in Vancouver will be considered, as travel cannot be accommodated.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate audio recording equipment for a one-camera, interview-style commercial shoot
- Monitor and adjust audio levels in real time to ensure optimal sound quality
- Collaborate with the line producer and director of photography to align on technical requirements and shooting schedule
- Troubleshoot and resolve any audio issues that arise during the shoot
- Provide all necessary equipment for on-site audio capture
- Deliver clean, professional audio files suitable for post-production
Skills And Requirements
- Proven experience as a sound mixer or audio engineer for commercial or interview-based video shoots
- Proficiency with industry-standard audio equipment and microphones
- Strong understanding of on-set audio best practices and troubleshooting
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
- Must be based in Vancouver and available on December 2, 2025
- Punctuality and reliability are essential
