Location: Langley, British Columbia Job Description: The Pet Valu family of stores includes Pet Valu, Paulmac's Pet Food, Bosley's, Tisol and Total Pet and together we are one of the largest retail operations in North America dedicated to providing families with food and supplies for dogs, cats, companion birds, wild birds, fish, reptiles and small animals. All of our stores are dedicated to helping local pets in need, and we partner with local shelters, rescues and charities for adoption events, in-store adoption (select stores only) and pet food bank programs, as well as through our national donation drives and fundraising campaigns. Job Overview: As a Sales Associate you will use your knowledge and experience to help Pet Parents find the right nutrition and other solutions for their pets. You will be part of a team of passionate Pet Experts, and enjoy the perks of helping Pet Parents every day. Store Location: 20159 88th Avenue, Langley, BC V1M 0A4 What you get: Staff Discounts Retail Training Pet Care Knowledge Flexible Scheduling Pay: From $18.25/hour What you do: Utilize Point of Sale (POS) systems to process transactions Engage with customers to understand their needs and recommend products Demonstrate product features and conduct product demos Upsell additional items to increase sales revenue Handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently Maintain a clean and organized store environment Bilingual skills are a plus for assisting diverse customer needs What you bring: 1 year experience in retail sales or customer service 1 year experience with pets Knowledge of technology sales or technical products is advantageous Strong sales skills with the ability to meet or exceed sales targets Proficiency in cashiering, cash handling, and maintaining accurate transaction records Ability to work as scheduled to meet attendance requirements, which may include weekends and evenings Ability to have reliable means of transportation to and from the store Must be comfortable around animals We believe in investing in the development of our people and have an industry-leading promotion rate.
