Invites Applications For SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGIST (TEMPORARY .4 FTE) School District No.43 (Coquitlam) is the third largest school district in BC with approximately 4,400 employees and 32,000 students in 70 schools. We serve the communities of Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Port Moody, and the villages of Anmore and Belcarra. The Coquitlam School District invites applications from individuals for the temporary position of School Psychologist.
Required Qualifications Successful applicants will possess the appropriate education, training and/or experience.
- A master's degree in school or educational psychology (or equivalent)
- CHCPBC certified, or eligible for certification, required
- Training and supervision in assessment and diagnosis of educational problems including administration and interpretation of individual psycho-educational tests
Roles And Responsibilities The school psychologist will:
- Communicate and work collaboratively with other professionals including school-based teams and Learning Services Department staff
- Support students with high and low incidence exceptionalities, ELL and Indigenous learners and students with behaviour disorders
- Provide in-depth education assessment services
- Provide information and consultation to school personnel regarding educational placement and programming
- Assist with designing and evaluating individual education plans
- Be guided by the District Tiered Intervention Framework
