POSITION SUMMARY
The Shipping Assistant will ensure accurate and seamless outgoing shipments and incoming items. Professional relationships with shipping companies, customers and installation crews are an essential function of this position. The successful incumbent must be able to work 6am to 2pm; Monday to Friday.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Receives orders and tags from the Office
- Confirms orders and dates with placer, type of transport required flatdeck, hiab, stinger or large crane - details of the job, access and any other information vital for delivery on time.
- Confirms orders and dates with misc. sales customers.
- Prepares and manages digital and paper files for production.
- Coordinates production and delivery schedule with Logistics, Projects and Production teams.
- Document Maintenance - filing, organized.
- Arranges Freight transport for loads via email and/or verbally.
- Answers questions from field rep, placers and customers.
- Ensures all waybills are completed once confirmed with the transport company.
- Scrap bin organizer - call when needs to be swapped out, arranges scrap bins for job sites coordinated with Field rep.
- Ensures order and delivery paperwork is complete and accurate.
- Operate a forklift, pallet jack and crane if required.
- Provides backup for other Logistics members.
- Perform other duties as assigned or required.
WORK EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of 2 years experience in shipping/receiving
- Valid forklift licence/certification with a minimum of 1 year of experience operations experience
- Demonstrated experience using logistics software programs, Microsoft Office and Google suite of products
- Experience in rebar fabricating is an asset.
- Valid class 5 drivers license required
