The Ministry of Parks, Culture and Sport's mission is to enhance economic growth and support quality of life by managing the provincial parks system and providing recreation, sport, heritage and cultural opportunities for residents and visitors. The Ministry is currently seeking a dynamic and highly motivated individual who is a flexible team player for the position of Park Facilities Coordinator for Echo Valley Provincial Park. Reporting to the Park Manager, this position will be involved in coordination of events held at park facilities. Examples of these facilities are Echo Beach day use pavilions and the Glacier Rock Event Center. Duties will include; welcoming park visitors, providing them with information on park programs and park amenities, answering questions, providing directions, and educating on rules and regulations, cleaning facilities and preparing the building and grounds to ensure they are ready for reservations/events taking place, park operations liaison with third party events held within park, work with team on in park communication strategies. The position will involve working in collaboration with the Park’s Manager, PAS, and Maintenance Supervisor.

You will perform a variety of office administration duties with the primary responsibility of all coordination of events taking place at the Pavilion and Glacier Rock Event Center. The Park Facilities Coordinator will also be responsible for ensuring the facilities and ground areas are well kept and ready for all events taking place as well as the main contact for the events at the park before, during and follow up. Some examples are cleaning bathrooms, sweep/mopping, pressure washing pavilion, set-up/takedown tables etc. Work with all departments on the planning and development of Winter programming and activities ex. Skate the Park. Ensure signage is in place for all incoming reservations at the Pavilion and Glacier Rock Event Center.

The successful candidate will have the experience and ability to respond accurately and courteously to inquiries; calm upset customers and respond to their concerns or complaints; operate office equipment such as computers, printers, fax machines, answering machines and interac cash systems; and prepare daily deposits. You will be reliable and trustworthy, with the ability to work alone.

This position will be required to work some weekends and may be required to work shift hours and/or be on call. A current and valid driver’s license is required.
