About the role

We are looking for a Closing Kitchen Supervisor to join our BOH team!

Reporting to the Chef de Cuisine and Kitchen Manager, the Closing Kitchen Supervisor is responsible for leading the kitchen during closing shifts while preparing dishes safely, efficiently, and consistently in a full-service restaurant environment. This role requires strong line experience, leadership skills, and confidence working in a fast-paced setting.

The ideal candidate has previous supervisory kitchen experience and must have experience making pizzas. Pizza preparation is a key part of our kitchen operations, so hands-on pizza-making skills are required, including stretching dough, building pizzas properly, and managing oven timing and execution according to house standards.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare food for service in a premium restaurant environment
  • Lead and support the kitchen team during closing shifts
  • Ensure all prep is completed for the following day
  • Prepare ingredients (chopping, peeling, cutting) and stock your station for service
  • Cook and plate dishes with accuracy, speed, and attention to detail, following the Chef de Cuisine’s recipes and presentation standards
  • Prepare and execute pizzas according to house standards, including dough handling and oven management
  • Monitor food quality, consistency, and presentation throughout service
  • Check the quality and freshness of all ingredients
  • Monitor stock levels and report shortages
  • Ensure proper closing procedures are followed (cleaning, labeling, storage, shutdown)
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation, including equipment and utensils
  • Follow all Health & Safety and Food Safe guidelines

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a BOH Supervisor role
  • Proven experience making pizzas (dough stretching, topping balance, oven timing)
  • Food Handling and Health & Safety certification is an asset
  • Comfortable with cooking methods such as grilling, frying, and sautéing
  • Strong kitchen fundamentals, including knife skills and mise en place
  • Good understanding of portions and measurements
  • Ability to lead a team calmly and effectively during busy service
  • Positive attitude and passion for food
  • Able to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Professional, reliable, and punctual
  • Team player who works well with both BOH and FOH
  • Physically able to lift moderate weight
  • Able to stand for long periods
  • Available to work weekends, holidays, and late evenings
