We’re looking for a Sawmill Supervisor to join our redesigned, modern lumber

mill located near Williams Lake, British Columbia. Our Lakeview Division safely and sustainably produces over 230 million board feet of lumber per year for customers around the world so they can build their homes and their communities. 

Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a lumber manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a sawmill, planer mill, or manufacturing operation.
  • Strong understanding of sawmill operations, lumber grading, quality standards, and production processes.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Post-secondary education in forestry, business, engineering, or related fields, an asset.
  • Previous experience leading a team is preferred.
  • A high degree of commitment to safety.
  • A mechanical aptitude with strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong relationship building skills with the ability to relate with people across all levels of the organization.

In this role, you will

  • Lead, coach, and support employees in the planer to achieve production, quality, and safety objectives.
  • Provide meaningful feedback and support to your team and across departments.
  • Monitor key performance indicators and identify opportunities for process improvements.
  • Demonstrate unwavering commitment to safety.
  • Ensure that the team is engaged, meets all safety, recovery, quality, and production targets.
