PROCUREMENT & SUPPLY CHAIN COORDINATOR

Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, the Procurement & Supply Chain (PSC) Coordinator will be responsible for creating purchase orders and completing a variety of tactical and administrative work to support the ongoing operations and production across Canada.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Source and procure raw materials, finished goods, specialized materials/parts/equipment and services, for consumption in manufacturing or direct sales to customers.
  • Inventory management activities (including but not limited to, creating/changing/executing on replenishment theory, forecasting, initiating transfers, tracking shipments, and optimizing stock levels)
  • PO reconciliation activities (expediting orders, prompt receivers to complete electronic transactions, and complete PO changes for 3-way match and pay).
  • Obtain quotes and pricing for the estimating department and customer service reps. Costing, lead times, and transportation costs provided by Purchasing, will be quoted to Armtec customers.
  • Evaluate the supply chain for risk related to the current economic environment, production constraints with suppliers, transportation delays, etc.
  • Create and maintain good working relationships that support the organization with the vendors.
  • Identify cost savings opportunities, through multi-quote activities.
  • Assist with inventory management across all commodities and regions.
  • Completes entry level analysis for buying trends, sales records, and change impact analysis.

Education and Experience:

  • Completion of post-secondary courses in supply chain, procurement or inventory management.
  • 1-3 years related experience in an office or purchasing related work environment.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Abilities and Skills:

  • Knowledge of production practices and operational requirements to ensure orderly inventories function.
  • Knowledge of internal accounting processes and requirements for invoicing and freight accrual purposes (i.e., to understand paper flow).
  • Intermediate computer skills (i.e., MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, WERPs, Internet/Intranet).
  • Advanced communication and listening skills; both oral and written, to communicate clearly and persuasively.
  • Problem-solving skills to analyze inventory, make purchases, respond to internal and external customers.
  • Solid organizational, and time and priority management skills are needed to organize and plan workload priorities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines in a productive manner.
  • Ability to foster effective relationships with internal and external customers.
  • A positive attitude where you are excited to take on new challenges with a "can-do" approach to business.
  • French language, an asset
