Earls Kitchen + Bar is looking for a Brand Engagement Manager to join our Brand & Marketing team for a 20-month contract in Vancouver, BC to make a big impact on the Earls consumer experience, both in-store and online.
This is a unique role that requires multiple skill sets as you lead all things paid media, website, SEO, and menu design. You will also oversee the development and promotion of menu marketing assets. This exciting opportunity comes with 2 direct reports and holds a lot of autonomy when it comes to the projects they will lead. Collaboration is also key in this role, working directly with the entire Marketing team, as well as the Tech team, Menu Production team, and our external partners.
Role Responsibilities
- Contribute to the execution of annual marketing goals and drive the company’s efforts to achieve aggressive growth and profitability.
- Lead end-to-end paid media strategy, defining budget allocations across the Marketing team to ensure optimal channel mix and maximum ROI.
- Drive data-led reporting and performance analysis, regularly presenting industry best practices in paid social and creative development to keep the brand at the forefront of digital trends.
- Approve all paid media requests and oversee the execution and implementation of new campaigns.
- Own multiple websites within the Earls portfolio, ensuring each website is best in class, and all content is accurate and relevant; proactively identify and execute opportunities for improvement.
- Lead all website-related work, including major projects and one-off requests, owning relationships with third-party web developer(s) and the internal Tech team.
- Lead strategy and optimization of SEO, making recommendations for best practices and determining KPIs for organizational SEO goals.
- Lead menu design, working closely with our external creative agency and executing comprehensive strategic briefs, distilling complex marketing goals into clear, actionable creative direction for creative teams.
- Lead all menu vessel and paper changes, working closely with external printing companies and vessel suppliers to source new, best-in-class menu materials.
- Work closely with the Menu Production team to collaborate on all menu-related projects, ensuring clear communication for all menu changes, including everything from minor template updates to major design changes.
- Ensure consistency across all menu touchpoints and act as an internal brand ambassador to ensure that our menus are best in class and provide a cohesive menu experience for our guests.
- Responsible for proactively ensuring that our menu design is best in class by overseeing all aspects of our physical menus, from ordering to quantities to quality to rollout.
- Manage multiple key Marketing budgets with a high level of organization and attention to detail; facilitate monthly reconciliations and annual forecasting.
- Support and guide two direct reports to ensure their programs meet expectations and timelines; nurture opportunities for growth and development.
Qualifications
- 5-7 years of progressive marketing experience, ideally in retail, hospitality, or consumer-facing brands.
- 2+ years of experience leading and coaching team members, including setting goals, providing feedback, and supporting career development.
- A degree or Diploma in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- Advanced proficiency in Google Workspace, particularly Google Sheets for data analysis, reporting, and budget tracking.
- Hands-on experience in leading paid media.
- Previous experience in managing brand websites and SEO.
- Highly effective communicator with exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage complex workbacks in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated and resourceful with excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
- Experience working with WordPress is an asset.
