The Opportunity
Disability Programs, Community Living Service Delivery, is seeking a people first, results-driven leader with a passion for supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities. As Manager of Transitional and Planned Respite Services you will join the provincial Crisis and Respite Services leadership team. This position is located in Prince Albert. In this role you will champion inclusive, responsive services that promote dignity, empowerment, and person-centered outcomes. This is a unique opportunity to lead transformational change within a 24/7 environment, impacting individuals, families, and stakeholders across the province.
Responsibilities
- Champion a culture of person-centered thinking and lead a team in the delivery of transitional housing and planned respite services.
- Oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of services to ensure alignment with policy, standards, and ethical practice.
- Ensure appropriate allocation of resources to support individuals in safely achieving meaningful outcomes.
- Manage 24/7 service operations, balancing client and staff needs in home setting.
- Share provincial leadership responsibilities with the provincial Crisis and Respite Services leadership team to maintain service consistency and innovation.
- Participate in a rotational on-call schedule (approx. 11 weeks/year), providing immediate leadership and direction to staff in high-pressure situations.
- Lead all steps in the staffing process, including recruitment, orientation, onboarding, coaching and performance management.
- Oversee financial and operational supports including budgeting, purchasing, supplies and equipment.
Ideal Candidate
You are an experienced professional who has:
- Demonstrated financial oversight skills including managing staffing budgets and approving expenditures.
- A strong understanding of compliance, contractual, and ethical standards in a unionized environment.
- The ability to foster a positive organizational culture by creating an environment of trust, equity, and psychological safety;
- Proven leadership in team building, staff mentorship, and facilitation of interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Skill in conflict resolution and promoting a respectful workplace.
- The demonstrated ability to manage stress and guide teams in high-pressure situations.
- Experience leading change management strategies.
- The ability to think strategically and align program operations with ministry priorities and long-term organizational goals.
- Train and coach staff in the performance of their duties to ensure effective utilization of the unit’s human resources
Typically, the knowledge and experience required for this position would be obtained through a degree in Human Services or a related field with a minimum of 3 years experience leading a high performing team, ideally within the disability sector or related human service field. An equivalent combination of education and work experience will be considered.
