The Management Consulting (MC) Pre-Sales is looking for a talented and dynamic Pre-Sales Solution Architect to join the team.

What You Will Do The MC Pre-Sales solutioning team plays a pivotal role in shaping and winning large-scale transformation deals. It is a key function fueling KPMG Canada’s growth, while ensuring delivery quality for our clients.

The Pre-Sales Solution Architect Role is a leadership role within the Pre-Sales solutioning team, responsible for orchestrating solution strategies that align seamlessly with clients’ business objectives, leveraging cutting-edge technology capabilities and innovative delivery models.

Your responsibilities will span the full deal lifecycle—from deal qualification, solutioning, estimation, staffing, pricing, partnering, and mobilization—to craft compelling, creative, and competitive proposals and propositions for our clients. You will collaborate closely across service lines, global delivery centers, and alliance partner networks to develop integrated solutions that bring the best to KPMG and our clients!

Key Responsibilities

  • Understand Client Requirements Collaborate with Pursuit Quarterback and KPMG service lines to understand and analyze client requirements, including business objectives, technical needs, and budget constraints. Engage in client discussions alongside subject matter experts to gain insight into client’s pain points and desired outcomes.
  • End to End Solution Design Lead the development of compelling win themes and architect end-to-end solutions — including solution approach, scope, estimates, contingency, costs, schedule, delivery model, resource/sourcing plan, assumptions, and risks— tailored to client needs, using an independent and unbiased approach that strikes the right balance between solution "sellability" and "deliverability."
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration Collaborate with involved delivery teams, third-party partners, and KPMG’s global network to ensure alignment on a coherent and differentiated solution that aligns with client requirements and delivery feasibility.
  • Solution Alignment Accountable for the overall solution including collaborating on solution design, lead review sessions, deliver presentations and build consensus across senior Partners to secure formal signoffs.
  • Commercial and Financial Stewardship Take responsibility for commercial aspects, pricing strategies, and staffing models for multi-million-dollar pursuits, bringing a competitive pricing lens while ensuring alignment with firm’s standards and client expectations.
  • Market and Offering Insights Stay up to date with the latest trends, technologies, competitor strategies, and client feedback to bring the relevant best practices for identified bids.
  • Continuous Improvement Proactively identify areas for improvement in the solution design and presales process

What You Bring To The Role

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
  • 10+ years of experience in management or technology consulting, particularly client-facing roles.
  • Proven experience in managing and responding to RFPs (Requests for Proposals) and RFIs (Requests for Information), supporting the consulting sales process
  • 5+ experience of working in Pre Sales roles in large system integrator firms
  • Solid understanding of industry-specific solutions, tools, and technologies
  • Proficiency in data analysis, business intelligence tools, cloud platforms such as Oracle, Microsoft, SAP, Workday, Salesforce, ServiceNow
  • Experience with pricing tools and proposal automation systems
  • Must be authorized to work in the Canada without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future

KPMG BC Region Pay Range Information The expected base salary range for this position is $103,000 to $154,500 and may be eligible for bonus awards. The determination of an applicant’s base salary within this range is based on the individual’s location, skills & competencies, and unique qualifications. In addition, KPMG offers a comprehensive and competitive Total Rewards program.
