Site Engineer - Major Underground Infrastructure Project – Toronto, Canada
Description
Protecnium is an international consulting firm specializing in engineering and technical services (www.protecnium.com/en). We are currently looking for a Site Engineer to join our team for a Major Underground Infrastructure Project in Toronto, Canada (on-site position).
Project: Underground Transit Infrastructure, Stations, and Tunnel Works Estimated duration of the position: 24 months -In general, when the project ends, we try to place the employee in other projects to give him/her continuity. Summary
As a Site Engineer, you will be responsible for a variety of technical and coordination tasks—from managing site activities to maintaining accurate documentation. Acting as a key link between stakeholders, you will help drive communication, quality, and efficiency throughout the project lifecycle.
Main Responsibilities Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with project standards. Maintain daily logs, site photos, and effective communication with all project teams. Ensure quality control by following QA/QC procedures and project specifications. Review drawings, identify missing resources, and support site setup activities. Implement Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), contribute to short-term planning, and track project progress. Develop risk assessments, enforce safety protocols, and report any site changes. Oversee material testing, report non-conformances, and ensure high-quality execution. Manage material deliveries, maintain work records, and support additional site activities. Promote a strong safety culture through proactive hazard identification and reporting. Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to support efficient project delivery. Working Hours: Monday to Friday – 10-hour shifts. Rotational schedule: 2 weeks on day shift and 2 weeks on night shift.

Working for an international company currently expanding. 22 working days of vacation per year + project observed holidays. 5 working days of sick leave (100% salary). Phone is provided. Public transport bonus included. Local Health Insurance (100% paid by the company).
Requirements
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil engineering and construction projects. Familiarity with Canadian construction codes, regulations, and industry best practices. Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams. Ability to plan, prioritize, and organize tasks to meet deadlines and project objectives. Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate project documentation. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to anticipate and resolve site challenges. Proficiency in construction software for project management and reporting. Commitment to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards. English level: C1 (Advanced). Local and international candidates will be considered.
