Job Summary & Key Responsibilities
The instructor is responsible for the administration and online delivery of BIOL 1021 (Introductory Biology II: Organismal Biology and Ecology) during the Summer of 2026, including content introduction and review in the form of webcasts and/or posts to an online discussion board, assisting students on an individual basis via e-mail and web conferences, managing teaching assistants, administering on-campus examinations, and submitting grades. The part-time academic will also be required to travel to the Truro campus to supervise exams.

All instructors hired to teach online will be supported by Dalhousie to develop and deliver their courses from the Centre for Learning and Teaching (clt@dal.ca) and Academic Technology Services (support@dal.ca). Qualifications/Requirements of Position
The candidate should have a graduate degree or equivalent academic experience in Biology, and experience in the learning management system used at Dalhousie University (Brightspace) or be willing to attend training sessions prior to the start of the course. Candidates must have a strong background and interest in teaching, good communication skills, and ability to work as a team member. Additional training or experience in online learning and web technologies are assets. First time applicants must provide the names of two referees.
