The material we share ranges from critical public safety alerts and investigative updates to community engagement and recruitment. This isn't about "going viral" - This is about authority, reliability, and the integrity of policing in Ontario.

About Us:

Corporate Communications Bureau is a full-service, dedicated and skilled team of strategic communications advisors, media officers, social media developers, graphic/web designers and videographers. This team provides communication services and support to our internal and external audiences, key partners and stakeholders. Social Media Developers are responsible for providing timely and accurate information to the public, via the media and social media.

We are looking for a digital communications expert who understands:

  • The Weight of the Message: You recognize that your writing represents 6,000+ officers and impacts the safety of Ontarians.
  • Tactical Precision: You possess the professional writing skills to translate complex legal or operational updates into clear, concise, and accessible public information.
  • Ethical Vigilance: You understand the nuances of privacy, sensitivity toward victims, and the legal implications of digital footprints.
  • Strategic Architecture: You don't just post, you manage a complex digital ecosystem designed to foster community trust and enhance public safety.

Note: The successful candidate will be required to travel frequently throughout the province, to ensure timely coverage.

##What you bring to the team

###Mandatory requirements

  • Ability to pass an OPP background/ security investigation.
  • You have a valid Class G driver's license or equivalent as recognized by the Province of Ontario.

###Social Media Marketing

  • Knowledge of social media platforms and uses for communication (i.e., Facebook, X, Instagram and You Tube) to conduct outreach activities.
  • Knowledge of internet search engines to conduct research.
  • Knowledge of social media marketing and media relations theories, trends, techniques, strategies, and practices.

###Graphic Design and Publishing

  • Knowledge of graphic design, accessible design, and word-processing and graphic-design software.
  • Knowledge of video production hardware, software, editing tools, and current video-production techniques, equipment and qualify standards.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite to create social-media graphic products.

###Communications Expertise

  • Knowledge of research, writing and editing practices, including grammar and communication standards, to ensure accurate and high-quality communications.
  • Knowledge of media and public information release standards to ensure integrity of communications products.
  • Strong oral communication, listening, and consultation skills to provide advice and develop effective, innovative social-media plans.

###Collaboration and Team Work

  • Ability to work collaboratively with team members, stakeholders, and partners to achieve shared goals.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to identify, assess, and resolve communications issues effectively.
