The Opportunity:
In this four-month placement, the Information Management Summer Student will support document management, content standardization, and data quality initiatives that enable safe, efficient, and compliant operations. The role includes assisting with the review and refresh of controlled documents and improving how information is structured, stored, and accessed.
This position offers hands-on exposure to information management practices in a regulated environment. While the primary focus is supporting the document refresh effort, curiosity and initiative are valued—particularly in identifying opportunities to simplify processes, improve information management, and leverage technology to add value.
What You’ll Do:
- Support the review, organization, and refresh of operational and controlled documents
- Assist in standardizing document formats, templates, and metadata
- Review, validate, and improve document and data quality within systems
- Support classification, storage, and retrieval in line with company standards
- Identify gaps, duplicates, or outdated content and support remediation
- Coordinate with stakeholders to gather inputs and align on updates
- Track and report on document refresh progress
- Ensure documentation meets governance and regulatory requirements
- Maintain accurate, audit-ready records and version control
- Identify and support improvements to document management processes and tools
Minimum Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Information Management, Business, Library Sciences, Engineering, or related field
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a structured environment
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, SharePoint); document management systems are an asset
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Interest in information management, document control, or governance
- Familiarity with document or content management systems
- Exposure to process improvement, automation, or data tools is an asset
- Previous co-op, internship, or relevant experience
Our Work Model
Work out of our downtown office location 5 days a week with flexible dress code for eligible office-based roles.
