Job Title: Senior Python AWS Developer
Location: Toronto, ON - REMOTE Duration: 1-Year Contract (Extension Possible) Job Description We are seeking an experienced Senior Python AWS Developer to design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance cloud-native applications using Python and AWS Cloud Services. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in backend development, API development, serverless computing, microservices architecture, and AWS cloud technologies. This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, secure, and scalable enterprise applications.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance applications using Python and AWS Cloud Services. Build and enhance cloud-native applications leveraging AWS services such as Lambda, EC2, S3, API Gateway, RDS, DynamoDB, and CloudWatch. Develop RESTful APIs, backend services, and automation solutions using Python frameworks such as Flask, FastAPI, or Django. Implement serverless architectures and microservices-based solutions to support business requirements. Collaborate with architects, business analysts, developers, and stakeholders to design and deliver scalable cloud solutions. Create, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using AWS DevOps tools and industry-standard deployment practices. Monitor application performance, troubleshoot production issues, and optimize cloud resource utilization. Implement AWS security best practices, including IAM policies, encryption, and compliance standards, to ensure application security. Participate in code reviews, unit testing, integration testing, and Agile development activities. Document technical solutions, deployment processes, and best practices.
Required Skills
Strong experience with Python development. Hands-on experience with AWS Cloud Services.
Experience with AWS services including
AWS Lambda EC2 S3 API Gateway RDS DynamoDB CloudWatch Strong experience developing RESTful APIs.
Experience with Python frameworks such as
Flask FastAPI Django Experience designing and implementing Microservices Architecture. Experience building Serverless Applications. Hands-on experience with Docker. Strong knowledge of Git version control. Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines. Understanding of DevOps best practices. Knowledge of AWS IAM, security, encryption, and cloud security best practices. Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Skills
Experience with Kubernetes (EKS). Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or AWS CloudFormation. Experience with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or AWS CodePipeline. Experience with Redis, RabbitMQ, or Kafka. Experience with automated testing frameworks such as PyTest. Experience working with enterprise-scale cloud applications.
