Environmental Facilitator (12 Month Term)

Our Environmental Facilitators play a critical role in protecting our people, our operations, and the environment. In this hands‑on, impactful role, you’ll lead the development, implementation, and ongoing management of environmental programs across our High Prairie and Slave Lake, Alberta divisions. You’ll ensure our operations meet stringent federal and provincial environmental regulations, Tolko policies, and industry best practices, helping drive responsible, sustainable operations today and for generations to come. We’re looking for an experienced Environmental Facilitator to join our Athabasca OSB Division also supporting our High Prairie division,located in Slave Lake, Alberta for a **12 month term position.**This state-of-the-art facility has the longest continuous press in North America, giving us the ability to produce a diverse range of innovative products for customers around the world.
Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:

A degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, or a related discipline.

Work experience at an industrial facility will be an asset.
-
Ability to interpret environmental regulations, guidelines, and standards.
-
Self-motivated and results-oriented with a desire to learn and innovate.
-
Ability to work independently with little supervision, as well as part of a team to successfully achieve strategic goals.
-
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and coordinate activities with others.
-
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, particularly technical writing.
-
Proficient use of various office-based software.
-
Self-motivated and results-oriented with a desire to learn and innovate.
In this role, you will:
-
Coordinate and complete activities related to the collection, assessment, and reporting of environmental monitoring data. This includes requirements associated with the divisions’ surface water, groundwater, soil, and air monitoring programs.

Provide guidance and develop employee education on environmental standards and regulatory requirements.
-
Complete routine audits to ensure environmental compliance and facilitate corrective actions as required.
-
Support the preparation of various reports.
-
Evaluate and improve environmental monitoring programs. This can include procedure updates, standard operating plan development, and/or equipment improvements.

Coordinate and support contracted work as required.
-
Based at the Athabasca division, travelling to High Prairie division when required.

You'll earn an additional payment on top of your base pay.
