About The Role

The Turnkey Project Developer at Trane Technologies plays a pivotal role in spearheading the development of comprehensive turnkey project opportunities from inception through to execution. This position requires a strategic thinker with strong project management capabilities, capable of coordinating cross-functional teams across commercial, technical, financial, and operational domains. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assessing potential projects, defining scope and deliverables, developing proposals, and ensuring all projects align with safety, quality, regulatory, and contractual standards. This role involves close collaboration with internal teams, external stakeholders, and clients to ensure project objectives are met within scope, schedule, and budget constraints. The Project Developer will also oversee risk management, contract negotiations, and documentation processes, contributing to continuous process improvements and best practices in project development.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, business, project management, or a related field. Several years of experience in project development, pre-construction, engineering, energy solutions, or construction environments are required. Demonstrated success in managing complex, cross-functional projects during early-stage planning is essential. Candidates should have a strong understanding of project budgeting, scheduling, contracts, procurement, and risk management, along with knowledge of health, safety, environmental, and quality standards. Proficiency in project management tools and standard business software applications is necessary. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are also vital for effective stakeholder engagement and reporting.

Responsibilities

Lead the identification, evaluation, and development of turnkey project opportunities, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and customer needs. Define project scope, deliverables, preliminary timelines, budgets, and resource requirements to establish a clear project roadmap. Coordinate with internal teams including sales, engineering, procurement, legal, finance, operations, and service to facilitate seamless project progression. Develop and support technical and commercial proposals, including detailed cost estimates, schedules, and risk assessments to secure project approval. Manage stakeholder communications with customers, contractors, consultants, suppliers, and internal leadership to ensure transparency and alignment. Support design coordination, solution development, and project planning activities prior to implementation, ensuring technical feasibility and compliance. Ensure projects adhere to safety, quality, contractual, and regulatory standards throughout the development process. Monitor project development milestones, maintaining alignment with scope, cost, schedule, and quality objectives, and adjusting plans as necessary. Identify project risks early, develop mitigation strategies, and manage issues and change requests proactively during development phases. Support contract review, negotiation input, and commercial alignment to optimize project outcomes. Prepare and maintain comprehensive project documentation, status reports, financial tracking, and development records for transparency and accountability. Drive continuous improvement initiatives by capturing lessons learned, standardizing processes, and sharing best practices across teams.
