The Vehicle Equipment Management Agency (VEMA) is currently seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of Storekeeper (ST2). To be considered for this competition you must submit an application form. See below for further instructions.

Conditions of Employment:

  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada

  • Must possess and maintain a valid full Class 5 Manitoba driver's licence

  • Must be physically capable of lifting and moving medium to heavy loads associated with storekeeping (10 kg - 25 kg or 25 lbs - 60 lbs)

  • Ability to travel and work for extended periods of time from various Fleet Management Services store locations (length: 3-5 days) within the Province of Manitoba

  • Willingness to participate and obtain a Power Forklift and Transportation of Dangerous Goods certification via Air and by Ground

Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Experience with clerical procedures including maintaining inventory control procedures, and using online Inventory Management Stores Systems

  • Experience in shipping, receiving, sourcing, storing and distributing goods

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy

  • Experience in heavy-duty equipment stock keeping operation, computer data entry and inventory procedures

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines

  • Experience and knowledge of automotive equipment

  • Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with customers and clients in person and over the phone

  • Strong written communication skills

  • Proficient in computer skills and Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Outlook , and Excel or similar software applications

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work co-operatively and constructively as part of a team

Desired:

  • Knowledge of Vehicle Management Agency (VEMA) products and services
  • Experience and knowledge of Heavy-duty equipment (loaders, snowplows, grades and similar)

Duties:

The Storekeeper is responsible for:

  • Issuing stock to meet the demands of mechanics, district staff and other government departments

  • Receiving shipments from suppliers to replenish stock

  • Preparing and processing of credit return documentation

  • Replenishing non-inventory and stores inventory with the use of computerized procurement system and utilizing the Government of Manitoba Outline Agreements

  • Shipping stock from Fleet Management Services(FMS) locations to meet demands in the Northern Airports and Marine Operations (NAMO) locations

  • Inventory pre-listing and counting stock to conform to audit requirements

  • Maintaining warehouse area to ensure proper warehousing standards are met

  • Providing back-up to other team members as required

  • Replenishing non-stock consumables as required (bolts, electrical connectors, bulbs, fuses, links, etc.)

  • Providing general training to students working in the warehouse
