GeoSpectrum is growing and we are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to support the design, development and testing of our advanced systems!

As the Electrical Engineer, you will play a critical role in the development of new technologies and systems that drive progress and innovation. You will solve complex technical challenges from power distribution to remote communications while ensuring designs meet rigorous performance and safety standards. In this role, you'll collaborate with a variety of teams, manage project timelines, risks, and document the totality of the development cycle.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the design, development and testing of our winch and cable handling products and acoustic systems, including creating detailed plans and specifications to meet project requirements.

  • Participate in formal program and engineering design reviews.

  • Identify and analyze unique technical challenges and develop innovative solutions such as;

    • Low voltage power distribution systems.
    • Variable speed control of permanent magnet servo motors
    • Programmable Logic Control systems and user interfaces.
    • Robust electrical enclosures, components, and cabling interconnects
    • Remote communication systems.
  • Plan and conduct simulations and testing to ensure that the design meets performance, safety, and quality standards.

  • Manage tasks to meet project scope, timelines and budgets.

  • Identify, mitigate, and manage technical risks and report them to technical leads and management.

  • Work in multidisciplinary teams, collaborating with others to achieve project goals.

  • Maintain detailed documentation of designs, tests and modifications.

  • Compile, present, and maintain verification evidence for customer acceptance events.

  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent job experience.

  • 2-5 years' of professional experience and a Licensed Professional Engineer in good standing.

  • Experience with AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks, ABB Automation Builder, Beijer iX HMI Software, MATLAB

  • Proficient in creating, reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.

  • Knowledge of industry relevant safety regulations and standards.

  • Understanding of engineering principles and practices.

  • Hold a valid Canadian passport.

Security Requirements
