Closing Date: March 18, 2026 at 4:00 PM Off-site Construction Research Centre (OCRC) The Off-site Construction Research Centre (OCRC) is a multi-disciplinary research centre that conducts research in a variety of topic areas including digital technology implementation, constructability, materials, and structures testing, building envelope testing, Lean construction, policy, and standardization. The OCRC's activities focus on applied research with over 30 industry partners and is governed by an Advisory Board. The OCRC works closely with the Department of Civil Engineering.

Salary Range: $57,669 - $74,969 per annum

YOUR FOCUS Reporting to the Innovation Director & Executive Director, the Administration & Finance Manager collaborates and directly supports OCRC staff and students for research projects, lab testing and certificate training in off-site construction. This position supports the directors in the management of the OCRC offices, developing and maintaining finance, administration and student affairs tasks and any additional SOPs to maintain the centre, the labs and its office spaces.

  • Lead the administration and financial operations of a fast-paced research centre managing 20+ concurrent projects with varying financial and reporting requirements.
  • Support financial aspects of grants and contracts, including tracking, reconciliation, forecasting, reporting, and compliance.
  • Develop and maintain internal financial tracking systems to support reporting accuracy and funding forecasts.
  • Liaise with ORS (pre-award, post-award, and industry-government services), Financial Services, and People and Culture to support project and funding requirements.
  • Provide financial and administrative guidance to directors, project managers, faculty, and staff.
  • Develop and deliver training to staff and researchers on financial processes, policies, and compliance requirements.
  • Monitor internal policies, external statutes, accounting standards, and audit requirements.
  • Establish and implement internal processes and protocols to support audit readiness and documentation standards.
  • Track expenditures, external invoices, purchase orders, PCARD reconciliations, and day-to-day financial activity.
  • Support marketing and communications initiatives, including workshops, events, and skills development programming for graduate students.
  • Secure funding and coordinate capital projects to enhance graduate student facilities and spaces.
  • Manage student spaces, oversee facility updates and purchases, and maintain student resources.
  • Develop and implement orientation and onboarding procedures for graduate students, summer interns, and Work-Study students.
  • Advocate for graduate students and liaise with campus GAUs regarding funding and policy matters.
  • Collaborate with the Lab Manager to oversee research lab operations and maintain required lab and equipment certifications.
  • Co-chair and coordinate major centre events, including the biennial Transforming Construction conference, webinar series, and student competitions.
  • Organize vendors, exhibitors, volunteers, registration processes, and event logistics.
  • Provide strategic, financial, and administrative leadership as a core member of the centre's management team.

What You Bring

  • College diploma or university degree in business and/or administration.
  • 3-5 years of experience working in an office or an administrative role.

Additional Strengths

  • Membership in CARA (Canadian Association of Research Administrators) or engagement in related professional development is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of research ethics, including Tri-Council Policy Statement (TCPS2) training, is considered an asset.
  • Familiarity with University of New Brunswick processes and financial systems, such as Colleague.
  • Experience in human resources, management, or supervisory roles.
  • Experience working in an industrial or research lab environment.
  • Ability to manage and support multiple complex projects simultaneously in a fast-paced research environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team collaboration skills across academic and administrative partners.
  • Strong financial acumen and attention to detail in managing grants, contracts, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills to balance shifting deadlines and competing demands.
  • Effective communication skills to provide guidance, training, and strategic support to diverse stakeholders.
