What you'll be doing

You’ll be joining the CIBC Capital Markets Global Transaction Banking Technology team. You’ll work on agile delivery projects to design and build a strategic, scalable, client-facing Corporate Cash Management solution. As a Consultant, Business Systems Analysis, you’ll lead workshops to undergo discovery and gather business requirements that align to business goals and CIBC enterprise standards. You’ll liaise between business and technical teams to translate business requirements into actionable technical stories. You can create detailed requirement specifications, state transition diagrams, system and workflow diagrams, process mapping and data mapping documents. You’ll support end-to-end project implementation and act as a subject matter expert in both business and technology. You’ll ideate and collaborate with a diverse team to create and set up flexible, innovative solutions that deliver a best-in-class client experience.

How you'll succeed

  • Requirements Elicitation and Solution Design - Create strong relationships and lead discussions with stakeholders to elicit business, and non-functional requirements. Proven experience with clarifying scope and documenting requirements as either User Stories or in a BRD. Facilitate functional solution design discussions to ensure traceability to requirements and alignment to project objectives.
  • Critical thinking and Detailed Analysis - Proven ability to methodically uncover and validate current state during the discovery phase. Prepare documentation in the form of process flow diagrams, swim lane diagrams, system & data workflows, and use case models. You are passionate about solving problems. You enjoy investigating complex problems and making sense of information.
  • Communication – Highly effectively at leading & facilitating meetings. Ability to clearly articulate goals & objectives to ensure discussions are outcome oriented. Fluidly adjust communication style, level of detail, and content to effectively communicate with stakeholders from different groups across the organization.
  • Accountability – Responsibility for the standardization of artifacts or deliverables delivered through the solution development lifecycle process. Ensure adherence to CIBC requirements standards, work practices, processes, security standards and policies.
  • Agile Project Delivery – Experience with agile project delivery on a large-scale and complex program structure. Experience with epic alignment, grooming product backlog, user stories refinement, sprint planning, scrums & retrospectives. Ability to adapt to technology partners who follow either Agile, Waterfall or hybrid project methodologies. Knowledge of the SLDC cycle and CI/CD pipeline release process.

Who you are

  • You can demonstrate experience with 3+ years working as a Business Systems Analyst, or Business Consultant in Capital Markets or comparable financial domain. Experience with requirement gathering and documenting process workflows. Experience documenting use cases, working with business & technology stakeholders, excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficient with JIRA, Confluence, MS Visio, Excel other Microsoft office applications, SQL, JSON, XML, Swagger, Postman and Putty. Knowledge SWIFT ISO20022 standards, Kafka, and Python is an asset. . It is an asset if you understand corporate transaction banking products and services. This includes deposits, SWIFT, FEDWIRE & ACH payments, and cash & liquidity management.
  • You're a great relationship builder - You have a proven track record for building trust & rapport with business stakeholders and technology partners. You can easily handle complex situations with your masterful communication, negotiation skills and conflict management.
  • You're highly organized and take initiative - You have the ability to work on multiple initiatives and tasks yet stay organized, focused and outcome oriented in a high-pressure environment. You're enthusiastic, inquisitive, self-motivated, take initiative and strive for continuous improvement.
