Role:

The Sanitation Supervisor ensures that Sanitation standards and its implementation process meet the established food quality and safety standards, ensuring that Sanitation guidelines are followed effectively and safely. Taking responsibility & making sure that the workers follow the guidelines related to GMP and HACCP, adhering to quality, safety, food safety and legislative guidelines. Working closely with Plant Production & QC team, the Sanitation Supervisor will train and supervise the crew to provide quick response to management requests related to microbial testing results, and Pre-operational inspection.

###Responsibilities

Responsible for ensuring food manufacturing companies adhere to sanitation / company protocols. Implement company cleaning policies, perform daily inspections, and oversee the duties of the workers.

Responsible for developing sanitation protocols in line with health and safety regulations. Demonstrate strong leadership skills, detailed knowledge of the food industry, and a good eye for detail.

Weekdays:

  • Checking of available lugs/lids for cleaning.

  • Checking inventory of chemicals and chemicals that need refill.

  • Conducting crew talk and discuss any concerns, issues, and strategies on the sanitation process.

  • Managing sanitation workers and designating them for clean-up.

  • Implementing and monitoring that7 Main Steps in Effective Sanitation proceduresare being observed.

    • Dry pick-up, disassembly, and lock-out-tag-out is done.
    • Pre-rinsing monitoring to separate locations.
    • Ensure that foaming application is done correctly with the proper concentration as stated set by the company. Monitoring the chemical contact time, manual / mechanical actions taken during the process.
    • Monitoring the post-rinsing process and ensuring that no chemical residue is left during this process.
    • Conducting inspection is done after rinsing process.
    • Calling QC attendant to verify the cleaning effectiveness, ensure that no meat debris is found on the machines, conveyors, and other related object.
    • Ensure that proper Sanitizing is done effectively.
  • Ensure all workers are working safely during the cleaning process.

  • Attending to all immediate concerns:

  • calling mechanic support, fixing, and maintaining cleaning tools.

  • Making sure that chemicals used in cleaning adhere to the protocols and standards set by the company.

  • Giving training needed in-line with Sanitation work-related courses.

  • Ensuring GMP is done all throughout the cleaning process.

  • Attending meetings and other related events.

Saturdays:

  • Designating workers to area of operation. This includes weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual clean-up tasks.

    • Includes work order reports.
  • Ensure that Employees work effectively in areas they were assigned.

    • Sanitation procedures must be met.
  • Ensure GMP and safety is observed during the process.

  • Dismantling conveyor belts and other related parts for shock treatment process.

    • Ensure that chemical concentration is achieved during this process.
  • Frequent monitoring of workers on different locations.

  • Tasks must be done at least 30% - 50% of the total task given as set by the company.

  • Making clean-up schedule for Sunday’s work in contrast with the tasks completed during Saturday.

Sundays:

  • Designate Employees to areas of operation other than tasks completed during Saturday work.

  • Ensure that Employees work effectively in areas they were assigned.

    • Sanitation procedures must be met. (7 Steps)
    • Proper chemicals are being used as to what is needed.
  • Ensure GMP and safety is observed during the process.

  • Frequent monitoring of workers in different locations.

  • Assembly of conveyor belts after shock treatment. Ensuring that conveyors are properly rinsed without chemical or meat residues.

  • Ensure that clean-up tasks are completed during this day.

  • Making clean-up schedule for the succeeding week based on the knowledge, trainings and ensure all employees are rotated/shuffled to different locations.

  • Inventory of Lugs, Lids, Totes and Cardboards.

  • Verification of documents needed for weekly tasks.

  • Ex: Pre-operational checklist, digital scales accuracy check, chemical concentration log.

  • Chemical Inventory is done.

  • Making reports during the weekend overtime.

  • Ensure that the plant is Production ready before leaving at end of shift.

###Requirements

  • More than 3 years of experience within Manufacturing industry.
  • Strong emphasis on computer literacy, proficiency in Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel).
  • Previous Supervisory/Leadership experience
  • Strong organization skills.
  • Must be dependable and hold an above average attendance record.
  • Possess strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective Communication Skills to lead, motivate, coach, mentor and resolve employee conflict.
  • Excellent listening skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High level of integrity and work ethic.
  • Previous experience working in a unionized environment is an asset.
  • Continuous learner and willingness to embrace change.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and under pressure.
  • Shift flexibility (Sat/Sun/Mon/Tue and Wed – Thu and Fri off)
