VDK Group Inc. is currently seeking to hire a full-time Interior Designer – Windows & Doors. In this role, you will work directly with homeowners, builders, contractors, and internal teams to design and specify window and door solutions that balance aesthetics, performance, constructability, and budget. You will play a key role in guiding clients through product selection while ensuring a smooth transition from design to production and installation.

What You’ll Do

  • Consult with homeowners, builders, contractors, and internal teams to understand design intent, architectural style, functional requirements, and project constraints
  • Develop window and door layouts, styles, configurations, and finish selections that complement both interior and exterior design concepts
  • Guide clients through the selection of windows, exterior doors, patio doors, hardware, glazing options, and finishes
  • Prepare detailed window and door specifications, and design documentation to support estimating, ordering, and production
  • Review architectural drawings, elevations, and specifications to ensure window and door designs align with project scope, building codes, and energy efficiency requirements
  • Collaborate closely with sales, estimators, project coordinators, and production teams to ensure designs are accurate, buildable, and aligned with budgets and timelines
  • Review shop drawings and order confirmations to verify accuracy prior to production
  • Maintain organized records of selections, approvals, revisions, and correspondence throughout the project
  • Stay current with window and door product lines, industry trends, energy performance standards, and applicable building codes
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of window and door design standards, templates, and processes

What You’ll Bring

  • A strong design sensibility with an understanding of how windows and doors influence light, proportion, functionality, and curb appeal
  • Education or experience in Interior Design, Architectural Technology, or a related field
  • Experience working with residential windows, doors is a strong asset
  • Ability to read and interpret residential drawings, elevations, and schedules
  • Proficiency with design and drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, or similar) is an asset
  • Knowledge of glazing options, hardware, finishes, energy efficiency, and installation considerations
  • Strong organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with homeowners, builders, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines
  • A collaborative, solution-oriented mindset with a commitment to accuracy and quality
