The Aquatics Maintenance Technician is responsible for daily monitoring and maintenance of all waterpark pools, including water chemistry, testing, filtration, and mechanical operations. This role also documents daily water tests, chemical levels, and safety checks.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Team

  • Willingness to accept the most effective role.
  • Conduct and document daily water testing; adjust chemical levels as necessary.
  • Vacuum pools, power wash park floors, and maintain overall cleanliness of waterpark facilities.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on pumps, motors, slides, tipping bucket, and other waterpark equipment.
  • Inspect pools, attractions, and equipment daily to ensure safety and proper functionality.
  • Safely handle and replenish pool chemicals in compliance with safety standards.
  • Remain on-call to address urgent maintenance or operational issues.
  • Support other departments and complete additional tasks as assigned.
  • Enforce park rules and Pack Member policies to maintain a safe and professional environment.
  • Develop, implement, and oversee safety programs to ensure compliance with ergonomic, emergency response, injury prevention, and hazard communication regulations.
  • Close with an open mentality.
  • Keep all areas in like-new condition and website ready.

Guest

  • Ensure guests are greeted and acknowledged consistently, adhering to the 10/5 Rule.
  • Works professionally with resort management, Pack Members and guests.
  • Communicate with guests in a professional and friendly manner.

Financial

  • Protecting company assets by adhering to policies and procedures.

Qualifications & Traits

  • Strong knowledge of water chemistry, testing, filtration, and mechanical operations required.
  • Willingness and availability to work after hours and on weekends as needed.
  • High school diploma or equivalent education required.
  • Certified Pool Operator (CPO) and/or Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) certification preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Capable of working in a hot, humid, chlorinated and loud environment. Up to and including 85F plus with 60% humidity.
  • Capable of walking, standing, bending, twisting, reaching above shoulder level, crouching/squatting, and kneeling.
  • Capable of climbing multiple flights of stairs, up to 90 at a time, multiple times a day.
  • Ability to climb ladders and scaffolding.
  • Dexterity of the fingers and hands with ability to squeeze hands, twist and rotate wrists and elbows.
  • Ability to lift, push and pull up to 75lbs.
  • Visual acuity to see colour.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions, on slippery surfaces, in tight spaces and at heights.

Additional Requirements

Newly hired Pack Members must submit a completed police clearance to Human Resources. Employment may begin before the results are received, based on the Pack Member’s confirmation that they have no unpardoned criminal convictions. If the clearance reveals a conviction, the employer may terminate employment on a case-by-case basis, providing only the minimum notice required under the Employment Standards Act, 2000, with no additional notice or compensation.
