The opportunity

The Coordinator, Donor Care will support and cultivate the development, stewardship, engagement and loyalty of donors, while handling phone and on-line inquiries for March of Dimes Canada. They will provide support in line with internal business practices, processes, quality guidelines and departmental reporting measurements to support the achievement of our goals.

Position Type: Full-Time, On-Site

Location: 99 Duncan Mill Road, Toronto, ON

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for donors and community members, responding to phone and email inquiries in a timely and professional manner that reflects March of Dimes Canada’s mission and values.
  • Accurately and promptly update donor information and requests in the CRM system.
  • Support fundraising initiatives and campaigns across all business units by managing inbound inquiries and ensuring alignment with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Deliver exceptional donor service by providing a warm, knowledgeable, and respectful “first contact” experience.
  • Foster and maintain strong donor relationships through ongoing stewardship and donor care activities.
  • Conduct outbound calls to thank monthly and mid-level donors, and to inform them about engagement opportunities and fundraising initiatives.
  • Lead the coordination and fulfillment of donor stewardship mailings (i.e Donor Welcome Packages).
  • Provide support with processing and managing returned mail
  • Apply best practices to retain, upgrade, and educate donors, contributing to revenue goals.
  • Manage donor-related inquiries with discretion and sound judgment, escalating issues when necessary.
  • Consistently meet individual and team performance metrics, including call/email volume, donor retention, and quality standards.
  • Proactively communicate any concerns or feedback that may impact donor satisfaction or team performance to the Senior Manager, Campaigns, and Senior Manager, Mass Marketing.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and experience

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in customer service or a call centre environment.
  • Post-secondary education is considered an asset.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Genuine passion for philanthropy and a strong commitment to donor-centric values.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive conversations with empathy and professionalism.
  • Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to connect donors to the organization in a meaningful and impactful way.
  • Resourceful, strategic, and service-oriented, with excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and a deep understanding of the importance of fundraising and stewardship.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining high standards of attendance.
  • Results-driven with a proven ability to meet and exceed performance goals.
  • Skilled at building relationships with donors, prospects, and volunteers.
  • Adaptable to evolving strategies and new approaches.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Previous experience in a not-for-profit or charitable organization is considered an asset.

Important Details

This role is not remote/hybrid and requires on-site attendance 5 days in office presence.
