As a Pathways Foreman, you will be supporting Senior Pathway Foreman and Area Trainer and supervise Mobility Pathway Workers. You will be responsible for time keeping of staff, contractors, and equipment. You will be preparing safety talks, overseeing staff training, and enforcing policies and procedures. Primary Duties include:

  • Input and verify payroll and weekly timesheet information for staff, contractors, and equipment.
  • Organize and implement site specific training on necessary equipment.
  • Maintain records for vehicle and equipment inspection, ensuring unsafe equipment tagging out system is being followed.
  • Use iPads and ArcGIS Online apps and maps for the recording of maintenance work performed.
  • Attend to service request by different partners and redirect it to the appropriate business unit. Monitor progress and completion of service request.
  • Ensure supply of fuel, equipment, and tools for staff. Ensure damaged tools and equipment are repaired or replaced.
  • Train crews and contractors to complete tasks such as SNIC operations, spring clean-up, shoulder brush cutting, asphalt repair, bollard repair, and sign replacement.
  • Provide site specific Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) training with current Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS). information. Inform and implement Occupational Health and Safety Guidelines and policies with staff.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalency (e.g., GED) with at least 3 years of general pathways and trails experience including Pathways ArcGIS Online applications and pathway contractor tracking and invoicing processes.
  • A valid Class 5 Driver's License (or provincial equivalent) with no more than 6 demerits or a Graduated Driver's License (GDL) with no more than 4 demerits, no current suspensions or charges pending is required.
  • Standard First Aid certificate is required.
  • A Gardener certification will be considered an asset.
  • Previous experience with Mobility infrastructure, pathways and trails, as well as Snow & Ice Control will be an asset.
  • Proficiency using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and ArcGIS Online (AGOL) applications, 311, Hansen System, Kronos Timekeeping System and technical infrastructure will also be considered assets.
  • Success in this position requires well developed planning and organizational skills with demonstrated customer focus, strong communication, problem solving, and leadership skills.

Working Conditions: Office and site environment with driving required for site inspections. Exposure to noise, dirt, dust, vehicle fumes and weather.

  • Must obtain a City of Calgary operator's permit.
  • Successful applicants must provide proof of qualifications.

Compensation: Pay Grade 4 $46.07 per hour

Days of Work: This position works a 4 day

work week up to 10 hours per shift.

Hours of work: Non-standard 38 hour work week November - March;

Non-standard 40 hour work week April - October
