Servicing a regional catchment area of 112,000 people, this progressive city of 51,553 residents is nestled between Lake Nipissing and Trout Lake and is conveniently located just three and a half hours from major Ontario centers such as Toronto and Ottawa.
The City of North Bay is seeking a creative and innovative team player to focus on community development, new investment attractions and the expansion and diversification of the existing business base.
The successful candidate will leverage their strong business networks to attract investments and facilitate strategic partnership with industry to support economic growth. As a proven collaborator who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, the individual will have a strong project management background and will lead internal initiatives while providing end-to-end client service to businesses and stakeholders.
With relevant post-secondary education and a minimum of five (5) years of experience, or an acceptable combination of formal education and related experience, the candidate will be accustomed to working in the field of economic development and ideally has obtained, or be presently working towards, his/her professional designation in Economic Development. Bilingualism is considered an asset.
We’re looking for a self-motivated team player with exceptional customer service, communication and interpersonal skills who is proficient with office and online systems. The ability to work independently in demanding situations, meet deadlines and balance competing priorities is a must as well as being available to travel and work outside of traditional business hours. The candidate should be legally entitled to work in Canada.

The 2025 annual salary range for this non-union position is $76,285 to $95,346. We offer a comprehensive benefit package including an Employee Assistance Program, Health and Dental Benefits and Life, Long-Term Disability, and AD&D Insurance.
