Are you passionate about golf and are looking to begin your municipal career? Burnaby Golf Operations is seeking customer service driven individuals to work in the Golf Division. Work will be year-round, but less busy in the winter time. Duties and responsibilities of Range Attendants include, but are not restricted to:
- Providing friendly & efficient customer service in a team environment
- Preparing facilities and power cart fleet for patrons
- Ability to lift heavy objects such as lifting buckets of golf balls
- Performing related duties as required
- Minor custodial duties to maintain the cleanliness of facilities
- Driving range operations
- Performs related work as required
Qualifications include up to high school graduation, outstanding customer service skills plus some related public contact experience, preferably in golf operations, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Some knowledge of golf course procedures and regulations including golf rules and etiquette, operations of minor equipment, as well as the ability to work effectively in teams would be considered assets. This position requires dedicated commitment during peak golf season from April to the end of October and part-time commitment in the off season. A valid BC Driver’s License is considered an asset.
Pay Rate: $21.59 + 12% in lieu of benefits (2024 Rates)
Location: Riverway Golf Course and Burnaby Mountain Golf Course
Hours of work: This is an auxiliary position, hours and shifts are dependent on operational requirements and scheduled on an as needed basis. Typical shifts are 4-7 hours in length scheduled Monday to Sunday, starting as early as 5:00 AM and ending as late as 1:00 AM; hours in this position are estimated to be between 12-20 weekly. The successful candidate will be required to have availability on weekends.
