ABOUT THE ROLE
The Health & Safety Manager leads the implementation and continuous improvement of the health and safety program across Manitoba and Saskatchewan. Reporting to the Central Region Area Health & Safety Manager, this role provides leadership, guidance, and technical expertise to operational leaders and the local Health & Safety team to strengthen safety performance, reduce risk, and foster a proactive safety culture across all product lines. This is a hands-on leadership role that partners closely with operations to identify opportunities, implement practical solutions, and support teams in achieving their health and safety objectives while ensuring alignment with corporate standards and regulatory requirements.
WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
Champion a culture where health & safety is the highest priority by leading through influence, building strong partnerships, and empowering leaders to create safe workplaces. Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of the Health & Safety Management System (HSMS) across Manitoba and Saskatchewan operations. Lead, coach, and develop the Health & Safety team while building health and safety capability throughout the organization. Partner with operational leaders to identify workplace hazards, assess risks, and implement practical prevention and risk control measures. Ensure compliance with corporate standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies through audits, inspections, and proactive field engagement. Monitor health and safety performance, training, audits, inspections, and key performance indicators to identify trends and drive measurable improvements. Lead incident investigations, corrective actions, and the sharing of lessons learned to reduce risk and prevent recurrence. Oversee workers' compensation case management and return-to-work programs in partnership with operational leadership. Support the implementation of new corporate health and safety initiatives and standards, helping leaders successfully adopt and sustain change. Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviours.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Education: University or College Diploma in Health and Safety or Technology is preferred. Required Work Experience: 5+ years in a managing people capacity; 5+ years’ work-related experience in construction materials industry with a multiple location responsibility; minimum of 5 years’ experience in the Health and Safety or related field. Required Training/Certifications: Preference given to candidates possessing a formal Health and Safety designation such as CRSP, CRST, NCSO. Required Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft and Google computer programs such as Gmail, Excel, Google Sheets, PowerPoint. Travel Requirements: 50% travel.

Excellent organizational and planning skills. Strong influencing without authority. Innovative thinker—solutions focused. Strong analytical skills, research, problem solving, and decision making. Action oriented, managerial courage, and ability to deal with ambiguity. Process management, building effective teams, customer focus, and priority setting skills. Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
