Due to our growth, we need extra hands-on-deck. You’ll be joining a collaborative team. This is a permanent position with full-time hours.
Your areas of responsibility will include:
- Responsible for reviewing, researching, and analyzing accounting files for accuracy and completeness.
- Preparation of year end supporting documents.
- Assist with full-cycle bookkeeping as time allows
- Assist in preparation of personal, business, and agriculture tax schedules.
- Assist in preparation of various tax reporting slips.
- Corresponding with Canada Revenue Agency in respect to various client tax matters, including audits of all CRA accounts.
- Effectively communicate with team members regarding progress updates and issues on an ongoing basis.
- Develop and apply technical skills by remaining up to date on trends, new developments, and tax authority decisions.
- Ensure all findings or discrepancies in client data files are escalated, documented, and addressed in a timely manner.
- Complete various ad-hoc duties and projects within the Year-end and Bookkeeping departments.
Qualifications & Competencies:
- Two years of experience in full-cycle bookkeeping required.
- Two years of customer service experience required.
- Experience using QuickBooks Desktop required.
- Post secondary education related to bookkeeping preferred.
- Experience with audits and tax related issues considered an asset.
- Tax preparation experience considered an asset.
- Industry related experience in farming, agriculture, manufacturing, or commercial and residentials rental properties considered an asset.
- Strong knowledge of software including as MS Word, Excel, Teams, QBO, Sage, Eagle.
- Exceptional attention to detail with demonstrated high level of precision and accuracy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly organized and demonstrated ability meets deadlines.
- Analytical, solutions oriented, resourceful.
- Ability to remain professional and adaptable in a changing environment.
- Ability to work both autonomously and within a team.
