Job Description & Requirements

Various positions to be staffed, minimum 2.00 hours per week.

The following assignments may be completely or partially combined to result in the most efficient means of operation of the total fleet. These assignments are to be considered effective with the Fall term.

  • Band Transportation – Bus(es), regular and/or lift equipped, to transport Music students as and when necessary; times and locations as requested. Proposed schedules to be available from the Transportation Office.

  • Special Needs Transportation – Bus(es), regular and/or lift equipped, to transport special needs students as and when necessary; times and locations as requested. Proposed schedules to be available from the Transportation Office

  • Noon Hour Transportation – Bus(es), regular and/or lift equipped, to transport students between the various Grades 9-12 schools during the lunch break. Proposed schedules to be available from the Transportation Office.

  • Home EC/IA Transportation - Bus(es), regular and/or lift equipped, to transport HE/IA students as and when necessary; times and locations as requested. Proposed schedules to be available from the Transportation Office.

Purpose of Position

Regular route drivers are responsible for transporting students from designated pick-up sites to Brandon School Division schools (and other division events/outings). Drivers may be assigned to city and/or country routes.

Duties and Responsibilities

Are established by the Supervisor of Transportation within the parameters of the job profile.

Required Qualifications

  • Class 2 Driver's License.
  • School Bus Operator's Certificate.
  • Defensive Driving Training.
  • WHMIS Training/Certification.
  • Effective basic reading, writing and mathematical skills.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • First Aid, CPR.
  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention.
  • Fire Safety Training.
  • Mechanical knowledge
