About the role
Foremost Industries has an immediate opening for a full-time Warehouse Lead with an opportunity for career growth to a Warehouse Foreman based out of our north facility in Lloydminster, Alberta reporting into our Plant Superintendent.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure that OH&S regulations and the corporate safety manual are being met.
- Strong ability to coach and mentor.
- Work with Safety to ensure that safe work practices are followed
- Work with Quality Control to ensure quality requirements are being followed
- Run weekly safety meetings
- Organize & plan daily activities in the warehouse according to priorities and current shop workload
- Identify and report maintenance items to their supervisor
- Ship & Receive products
- Investigate lost or damaged shipment, and adjust where necessary
- Vision for continuous improvement and efficiency, heightened quality and improve safety as part of the operations team
- Work within Visual Database to perform a variety of functions
- Material Issuing, receipting, adjustments.
- Creation of work orders
- Purchase Order Receipts, Returns.
- IBT’s (Inter Branch Transfers)
- Maintain accurate inventory log of yard inventory spreadsheet
- Oversee warehouse and forklift/yard staff and their day-to-day functions
- Maintain strict control over inventory levels to meet internal and external demand of product.
- Conduct periodic spot-checks of inventory levels, supplies, or equipment.
Qualifications:
- Proven leadership experience such as supervisor, lead hand, or equivalent
- Strong understanding of materials and inventory management
- Proficient with computer skills such as excel, word, outlook
- Must have goals for continuous improvement
- Strong ethic and positive attitude
- Strong attention to detail and able to work well under pressure
- Self-motivated, fast learner and ability to work independently
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Safety Training an asset but will train as required
- Forklift training certificate considered an asset but will train the right candidate
- Valid class 5 driver’s license
