##Job Description Summary
Are you someone who enjoys hands-on laboratory work and supporting a wide range of scientific research projects? STEMCELL Technologies, Canada’s largest biotechnology company, is looking for a Technologist to help support the day-to-day operations of our Scientific Core Facility and ensure researchers have access to reliable equipment, high-quality assays, and well-maintained laboratory resources.
In this role, you will operate and maintain specialized equipment, run assays, support inventory and procurement of reagents and consumables, and help ensure safety and quality standards are met. You will also contribute to training and technical support for facility users, helping enable high-quality research for all lab users.
Please note, this is a 12 month fixed term role.
##Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides hands-on day-to-day support for lab operations in the Core Facility to ensure requirements and requests are met for R&D lab users
- Supports the Core Facility team to improve and enhance the lab user experience, including the efficiency and productivity of Core Facility processes
- Adheres to quality best practices and standards in all lab operations, protocols, processes and services for Core Facility, in alignment with Lab Management, Facilities and EH&S teams and external regulatory guidelines
- Maintains detailed and comprehensive record keeping practices using digital data management solutions
Knowledge and Qualifications
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences with up to 2 years of relevant work and/or co-op experience
- Knowledge of lab techniques and lab operations relevant to Core Facility, particularly cell culture, considered an asset
- Capable of delivering lab skills training to lab users
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) both in one-on-one and in group settings

The annual salary for this job ranges from:
$58,500.00 - $79,100.00
STEMCELL determines an individual’s pay within the range based on multiple factors including experience, education, job-related skills, and equity within the team or organization. For jobs that are eligible for sales incentives, the range noted above is inclusive of target incentives; actual incentives are based on individual performance results in accordance with company policy. In addition to base salary, STEMCELL offers a comprehensive total rewards package including health benefits, retirement savings, and more.
