About the role

Position Summary

Northern Health is looking for an experienced, highly efficient, and self-directed Administrative Assistant to support the Administration and Medical Staff department.

The Administrative Assistant, Administration & Medical Staff is responsible for coordinating, organizing and providing administrative and secretarial support to the Health Service Administrator within established policies and procedures. The Administrative Assistant is also required to prepare reports and assist with projects involving the collection, compilation and interpretation of data. At all times, the Administrative Assistant is required to exhibit exceptional communication skills and will be required to tactfully manage the demands of several key stakeholders in addition to the Health Service Administrator.

Starting salary will be approximately from $48,476 to $60,594 and will be based on education, training, experience, and salaries of similar positions.

Qualifications
  • Grade 12 supplemented by successful completion of a diploma or certificate from Business Administration/Management course.

  • Three (3) to five (5) years progressive administrative experience, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience

Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in MS Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, database applications, and other software.

  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.

  • Ability to operate related office equipment.

  • Strong time management skills.

  • Excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work with little or no supervision.

  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.

  • Ability to work with changing priorities, interruptions and multiple deadlines.

  • Ability to type 60 w.p.m.
